About DSP (Australia)

Disaster Survival Planning (Australia) was founded in 1998 in response to the Newcastle earthquake and operates under license for intellectual property to DSPN. All plans and guidelines follow Australian standards where they are available. DSP Australia is led by Bryan Whitefield.

Bryan Whitefiield, B.E. Chem (Hons), MBA, MRMIA, CPRM.

Bryan helped pioneer business risk management in Australia in the early 1990s by applying his risk management experience in the engineering field and his insurance skills to business. Today, he consults broadly across both the public and private sectors.

Bryan is a member of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) and serves on the executive board of the NSW chapter. He is licensed by RMIA as a Certified Practicing Risk Manager (CPRM).

Bryan authored the Australian Government’s Risk Management Benchmarking Survey for more than 120 Government agencies from 2002-2005. In 2001, he became a lecturer in the Risk Management program of Monash University. He has also authored coursework for the Advanced Diploma in Risk Management which is offered by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
