Charter the Core Team
Goal:
Organize a core team to guide the development and execution of your
disaster recovery program. Then train the members on the various
phases of development and their individual roles during each phase. Create
a cohesive structure to coordinate all disaster recovery activities involving
executives, department managers, evacuation teams, human resources, facilities
teams, and other support teams such as IS and telecommunications.
Deliverables:

Through an interactive session with key executives, determine who will
drive the execution of key activities during a warning stage, emergency
response, and business recovery.

Develop the “Big Picture” to depict the various stages, identifying who
will be responsible, and their primary functions.

Facilitate the development of emergency policies and other information
that will be needed for uniformity as business units begin building their
business continuity plans.

Create a “draft” business continuity plan that will be the foundation for
all other elements of the program to be developed.
